Dr. Brown is a Board Certified Rheumatologist in private practice in Hyannis, MA, with a deep commitment to improving the lives of his patients for over 20 years. Dr. Brown is highly regarded by his patients and colleagues for his expertise in rheumatology and compassionate care. His Mid-Cape office suite, which includes an infusion center offers convenient access for local patients coming from the Cape and Islands, South Coast & South Shore. His mission is to restore movement, guiding his patients on the path to renewed health.
Dedicated, caring & hard working, Dr. Brown grew up on Massachusetts’ north shore where he attended Malden Catholic High School and Boston College, graduating with a BS in 1994. He put himself through medical school, earning his MD from MCP-Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia in 1999. His advanced study includes internships and residency in Internal Medicine at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA (1999–2002), and his Fellowship in Rheumatology at renowned Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana (2002-2004). Returning home to Massachusetts, he started working in private practice on Cape Cod in 2004 and has remained an independent practitioner. Here he met his wife of almost 20 years, Tara Schiffmann Brown of Barnstable, and raised his son.
Dr. Brown loves the Cape Cod lifestyle, being a father and spending time with his family and friends. He is active in his church parish, an avid fisherman, shellfisherman & amateur astronomer. He loves life on the Cape and enjoys boating, fishing, hiking on nature trails, and the beauty of the Cape’s beaches and seasons. As a dedicated doctor he believes in daily study of the latest in medical research & advancements and is continually innovating his practice and patient care. Dr. Brown is fluent in Portuguese.
